Community Guidelines

Last Updated: June 23rd, 2021

Welcome to Tiebreak where you can go to connect with your local tennis community and find your next tennis match. Our Community Guidelines and our Terms and Conditions are intended to create a safe and welcoming environment for all users of Tiebreak. Individuals who do not respect these guidelines may lose access to this service.

Show respect for others

The Tiebreak tennis community welcomes a diverse group of individuals with a common passion for tennis. We will not tolerate derogatory comments, bullying, hate speech, or rude and abusive behavior. Users should report any such behavior that does not follow these guidelines. When messaging with other users, stay respectful. This is how we will build our local tennis community.

The same goes for your conduct on the tennis court. Be respectful of the other player and be a good sportsperson.

Fostering a diverse tennis community

We strive to be a welcoming, diverse community and welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds. Our common ground is our love for tennis, but as individuals we will differ in many ways. Your next tennis match may very well be with someone very different from you. We will not tolerate discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or ability.

Represent yourself

To help you discover and get to know others in your local tennis community, please be honest when you post information about yourself. Pretending you are Rafa or Roger won’t get you very far. Only post original photos and videos of yourself and be honest with how you represent yourself.

Guidelines on photos

This app is meant to feel comfortable for all users. Do not post photos that are shirtless, sexually explicit, or pornographic. The app is for users 18 years or older. Do not post pictures of children alone. Children must be with an adult and fully clothed. Do not post photos or videos that are copyrighted. Your face should be clearly visible in your profile photo.

Stay safe

When you plan to meet with someone to play tennis, use the same common sense you would in every day life: choose tennis courts that you feel comfortable going to, let others know where you will be, meet during the day, don’t agree to go to isolated locations, and consider having a friend go with you.

As the COVID-19 pandemic persists, continue to follow local guidelines on tennis play and guidance about protecting yourself and curbing the spread of the virus. Wear a mask at all times, stay 6 feet apart, wash your hands before and after playing, no handshakes, bring and mark your own balls, and don’t share equipment. Limit the number of spectators.

No illegal activity

Tiebreak should not be used for illegal activities. If you engage in illegal activities on this app, your account will be banned and you may be reported to the authorities.

If you don’t follow these guidelines, you’ll receive a warning (unless our team decides to block or restrict access without warning at our discretion). If you ignore this warning, you risk losing your account. These guidelines are designed to make Tiebreak a friendly and safe place for all our users.

Thank you for doing your part in creating a safe, welcoming environment for our local tennis community.
